Christmas meal

Our Christmas meal was attended by 113 individuals, 297 gifts were given out to families in need, 23 Hampers, 20 small hampers for individuals living alone and a drop in day for people in crisis to receive food, gifts for children, new quality toiletries and clothing.

The drop in day was amazing we had two families that were sent from the salvation army. Both families had been sanctioned and had no gifts for their children or food for Christmas we bought both families a whole Christmas meal from asda turkey veg the works and gave them both luxury hampers to go home with .

A further 28 families attended the drop in day and were overwhelmed and relieved that their children would have gifts and food to open on Christmas day.

The most moving part of the day for me was when two young girls aged 11 asked if they could choose gifts for their parents, they chose their gifts and sat wrapping them excitedly discussing how happy the parents would be to receive the gifts. Their concern were not for their own needs/wants but for their parents. It was heart-warming.

We have to thank Richard and Jess who are wonderful chefs that take their free time to cook, deliver and serve all the meals to our guests. They never charge for the food they supply they are a truly amazing couple, without them Christmas would not be the same.

The year has been extraordinary, painful at times with so many heart wrenching stories it pushes us to keep going. To continue this work we need you, your support your love, your time, your gifts.

I will end this by saying a massive thank you to everyone who has made it all possible, you know who you are, Jesus has asked us to demonstrate our belief by bringing love to those who feel hopeless. Sharing resources with one another He envisions what the world could look like and calls us to join God in the process of making that vision a reality. It’s about exchanging the currencies of this world for the currency of love and hope. we love you may Gods blessings follow you always.
