About the Hope Centre?

We have been asked time and time again “how are you different?”

How does it all work? I hope the following will answer some of your questions, if not then come and talk to us, we will be happy to meet with you.

What We Do

The aim is to provide a safe accepting environment where people can meet, build relationships of fellowship, understanding and love.

A community where people can access activities; social and educational at their point of need and to assist all by supporting, befriending and serving in whatever way possible to alleviate distress, poverty and loneliness. We do this as we work from a basis of Christian commitment and values of love, hope and friendship. We believe we are all family, every person is important and every person has a purpose. “Spread the love of God through your life but only use words when necessary” Mother Teresa.

Relationship

Relationship comes first, we believe that relationship is key to all your work, we come alongside whoever we meet and work and work with them, not for them. We recognise that the people who experience any personal, emotional, educational or social issues are best to advise us and work together with us to find solutions. Every persons experience is individual. We therefore do not tell people what they need to work with them to find solutions, we do not say what they can or cannot have or put a limit on our time, our services or our gifts. Solutions are found together and worked at together building strong relationships, we have witnessed life changing moments.

Friends

We work with a number of projects and groups including centre for diversity and equality, women’s aid, the five estates project, C.A.B The Halesowen welcome team, homeless projects, the jobcentre, Dudley and Sandwell mind, brushstrokes, and the list goes on. We feel it is vital to ensure we are providing and advising the right support for each individual that walks through the door. We want to work with you so if you think that is possible please talk to us, we are looking forward to meeting and working with you.

We offer assistance where it's most needed.

Without the generosity of people giving regular amounts of money and donations from furniture and clothing our services would not be possible. We are truly grateful to everyone who gives financially and for those who give their time. Everyone works on a voluntary basis giving their time freely to support others. There are a number of ways you could support us at hope:

· Weekly or monthly donations

· Giving your time to volunteer

· Donating good quality furniture, clothing, food, gifts and household goods

· Telling others about us!!!

· Room hire - rent our rooms for meetings and groups.
